St. Peter Claver Catholic School is located in the heart of the historic Rondo neighborhood, and we are seeking a collaborative, mission-driven educator to join our SPC family. Our small class sizes and strong sense of community create an environment where teachers can build meaningful relationships with students while delivering high-quality, individualized instruction.
At St. Peter Claver, middle school teachers are part of a team-based model serving grades 6–8, grounded in the philosophy of Ubuntu—“I am because we are.” Teachers collaborate with a co-teacher to support a shared cohort of students, allowing for flexible scheduling, strategic grouping, and interdisciplinary instruction. This structure enables teachers to divide or combine students based on content area, academic need, or project-based learning opportunities, creating a more responsive and engaging learning experience. Teachers leverage their individual strengths while benefiting from shared planning, reduced isolation, and continuous professional collaboration.
Our experiential approach, combined with this team model, allows for rich cross-curricular projects, leadership development, and real-world learning experiences that prepare students for success in high school and beyond.
The Middle School Teacher at St. Peter Claver Catholic School is responsible for delivering engaging, faith-centered instruction across core subject areas while supporting students during their critical developmental years. Working within a collaborative teaching team, the teacher will co-plan, co-instruct, and co-assess a shared group of students, using flexible groupings and interdisciplinary approaches to meet diverse academic and social-emotional needs. This role is essential in fostering academic growth, leadership, and faith formation, while preparing students for a successful transition to high school. The ideal candidate is a strong collaborator who thrives in a team-based environment and is committed to innovative, student-centered teaching practices.
