Summary
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School is seeking a dedicated, faith-filled, and enthusiastic Spanish Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will foster a love of language and culture while creating a positive and engaging learning environment that supports the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of our students.
The successful candidate will be committed to the mission of Catholic education and possess strong classroom management skills, effective communication abilities, and a passion for helping students develop proficiency in the Spanish language.
Category: Full-time hourly contract basis
Pay Rate: depending on education & experience
Work Year: school days Aug. - May with some additional training days
Specific Days Needed: M, T, W, Th, F (any one or more)
Min./Max. Hours per week: 40
Job Hours: 7:30 AM 3:30 PM (additional hours maybe added for meetings, etc)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Commitment to the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Commitment to student growth, academic excellence, and faith formation.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a professional team.
- Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid state teaching certification appropriate to the grade level and subject area.
- Three or more years of teaching experience.
- Master's degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field.
- Catechist Certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Safe Haven Training or willingness to complete required training.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Instruction and Curriculum
- Develop and implement engaging Spanish language lessons aligned with school curriculum and learning objectives.
- Foster student proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish.
- Integrate Spanish-speaking cultures and traditions into instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Utilize technology and instructional resources to enhance student learning.
Student Learning and Assessment
- Assess student progress through formal and informal evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student achievement.
- Analyze student performance data and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Administer standardized assessments as required.
Classroom Environment
- Create and maintain a safe, positive, and faith-centered learning environment.
- Establish and enforce classroom expectations consistent with school policies.
- Promote responsible digital citizenship and appropriate student behavior.
Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administration.
- Encourage parental involvement in student learning and school activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate curriculum and support student success.
- Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and professional learning opportunities.
Professional Responsibilities
- Support and model Catholic values in all interactions.
- Pursue ongoing professional growth and remain current in educational best practices.
- Participate in required diocesan and school training programs, including Safe Haven and catechetical formation as applicable.
- Assist with school events, student activities, supervision duties, and other responsibilities as assigned.

- Knowledge of current instructional practices and educational pedagogy.
- Understanding of curriculum development and student assessment.
- Ability to differentiate instruction based on student needs and learning styles.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to sit, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach as necessary.
- Ability to lift and carry instructional materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to use classroom technology and teaching equipment.
- Ability to supervise students in classroom and non-classroom settings.
Additional Responsibilities
- Supervise students during assigned non-instructional duties, including lunch, recess, carpool, and school events.
- Participate in faculty committees, school activities, and extracurricular programs.
- Support classroom volunteers, tutors, and instructional assistants as needed.
- Attend all required in-service days, faculty meetings, and professional development sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
