Brief Job Description: We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Universal Pre-K (UPK) Aide to support our classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children. The UPK Aide assists with daily classroom routines, instructional activities, supervision, and classroom organization while fostering children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist the UPK teacher with implementing daily lessons and learning activities.
• Support children during classroom instruction, small group activities, centers, meals, and outdoor play.
• Supervise students to ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.
• Help prepare instructional materials and maintain classroom organization.
• Encourage positive behavior and reinforce classroom expectations.
• Assist children with daily routines.
• Observe and communicate student progress, concerns, and achievements with the classroom teacher.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and family information.
• Follow all health, safety, licensing, and school policies and procedures.
• Participate in professional development and training as required.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities.
• Must successfully complete required background checks and clearances.
