Good Shepherd Catholic School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Long-Term Spanish Substitute Teacher to provide engaging Spanish instruction for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. The ideal candidate fosters a love of language and culture while creating a positive, faith-filled classroom environment that supports students' academic, social, and spiritual growth.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate Spanish lessons for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade.
- Teach Spanish vocabulary, conversational skills, songs, games, stories, and cultural traditions through engaging, interactive instruction.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom where students feel encouraged to participate and take risks in language learning.
- Maintain continuity with the existing Spanish curriculum and lesson plans while adapting instruction as needed.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Establish and maintain positive classroom routines and effective behavior management aligned with school expectations.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and administration to support student success.
- Assess student learning through informal observations and classroom activities.
- Communicate professionally with school staff and families when appropriate.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school Masses, prayer services, and community events as requested.
