Catholic School Teaching Position
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, faith-filled, and engaging Science Teacher to join our Catholic school community and teach 5th and 6th grade students. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity about God’s creation through hands-on learning, foster academic excellence, and support the spiritual and moral development of students in accordance with Catholic values.
Responsibilities
- Teach 5th and 6th grade science curriculum aligned with state and diocesan standards
- Create engaging lesson plans that encourage inquiry, critical thinking, and scientific exploration
- Incorporate Catholic teachings and values into classroom culture and instruction when appropriate
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Utilize labs, projects, technology, and interactive activities to support student learning
- Assess student progress regularly and communicate effectively with parents and school administration
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to support school initiatives and student success
- Participate in school liturgies, faith-based activities, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field
- Valid state teaching certification or ability to obtain certification
- Practicing Catholic preferred, but all candidates supportive of the Catholic mission are encouraged to apply
- Experience teaching upper elementary or middle school science preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to academic excellence and faith formation
