Responsible to perform professional level work in the field of mental/behavioral health assessment, treatment and prevention work. Will interview clients; provide therapy to people of all ages and/or their families in individual, family, conjoint and group sessions. Will additionally present educational programming as needed, assist in the preparation of reports, and will maintain all related paperwork. This work is confidential and requires a high degree of individual judgment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Conduct diagnostic assessments, formulate recommendations, and provide ongoing psychotherapy for child, adolescent and adult clients using individual, family, conjoint and group modalities both within the agency and possibly in the client's home.
· Monitor progress toward treatment goals by evaluating and adjusting services provided.
· Routinely and accurately assess risk, provide the appropriate de-escalation and follow the agency policy and procedure for safety and managing crisis.
· Complete and maintain accurate and up-to-date (Real Time or Near Real Time) client files and reports, including, but not limited to: assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, quarterly reports, discharge summaries, reports, billing and insurance forms and any other written material required by the agency and/or entities contracting with the agency.
· Document in a clear, accurate, concise and professional manner.
· Provide appropriate referrals and serve as client advocate as needed. Participate in the coordination of treatment with other agencies as needed.
· Maintain positive and direct communication with the Clinical Supervisor, especially regarding case consultation, program development and policy change.
Education and/or Experience
Must hold a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Professional Counseling.
