Job Summary
Holy Cross Academy is seeking a dedicated, faith-centered Middle School Math Teacher to instruct students in grades 6–8. The ideal candidate will foster a positive classroom environment, promote critical thinking skills, and integrate Catholic values into daily instruction. This educator will help students build a strong mathematical foundation while encouraging academic excellence and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with school curriculum and standards (e.g., Common Core or diocesan guidelines).
- Teach a range of middle school math topics such as ratios and proportional reasoning, expressions and equations, geometry concepts, and statistics and probability.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Assess student understanding through tests, quizzes, projects, and formative assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians.
- Create a respectful, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
- Integrate Catholic teachings and values into lessons and classroom culture.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development and school initiatives.
- Participate in school activities, faculty meetings, and professional development.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and spiritual development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Current state teaching certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience teaching middle school math preferred.
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
- Commitment to Catholic education and values.
- Practicing Catholic preferred (depending on school requirements).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
