Job Summary
The “Lecturer in Ancient Languages” position works on three fronts:
- Offering semester long classes in Latin and Greek (and occasionally in Hebrew);
- Tutoring Cardinal Glennon College students in their SLU classes;
- Working as a writing tutor for all seminarians.
Job Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with providing Latin I and II classes.
- Provide Greek I and II classes.
- Offer Hebrew classes as needed.
- Work with Cardinal Glennon College freshmen and sophomores (Propaedeutic I & II) as a tutor for their SLU classes.
- Provide writing assistance to all Kenrick-Glennon seminarians.
- May also tutor philosophy students (Discipleship I & II) as needed.
Job Requirements
- Doctorate in Philosophy or Theology, with special emphasis in use of ancient languages; OR Master’s Degree in Ancient Languages.
- Experience and training in various methods of teaching languages preferred.
- Experience with writing – especially publications in philosophy or theology.
