Job Summary
The Aftercare Aide at St. Gerard Majella Catholic School provides supervision and care for students after school hours in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. This role encourages positive social interactions, supports student well-being, and helps maintain a calm and organized setting aligned with the school’s Catholic values.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise students during after-school care to ensure safety and appropriate behavior
- Lead and assist with activities such as games, homework time, and quiet play
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment
- Monitor student behavior and address concerns according to school policies
- Assist students with homework and provide support as needed
- Follow proper student check-out procedures to ensure safety
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration
- Keep the aftercare area clean, organized, and well-maintained
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting preferred
- Strong supervision and communication skills
- Ability to manage groups of children in a structured setting
- Dependable, patient, and responsible
- Basic organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment
- Willingness to support the mission and Catholic values of the school
