We are seeking a dependable and self-motivated Custodian to work cooperatively with Facility Director, Pastor, parish leaders, and other staff members to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our church and school facilities. This role is responsible for custodial and maintenance needs for the parish and school facilities ensuring a clean overall appearance and safety for the buildings and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Be present and ready to work at schedule time and days.
- Provide janitorial care of the facility/grounds for the parish and school; offices, entryways, restrooms, worship and meeting spaces. Along with outdoor spaces, i.e. snow removal & yard work.
- Set up and take down of meeting spaces ensuring that the people using the spaces have what they need.
- Provide a secure environment for members, visitors and staff. Monitor building safety and security.
- Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of all facilities, church and school.
- Address school and parish maintenance or custodial needs as they arise.
- Follow daily cleaning tasks and address additional needs proactively.
- Perform light maintenance, including minor repairs and painting.
- Handle waste disposal and recycling according to established procedures.
- Track and request custodial and maintenance supplies as needed.
- Follow all safety and hazardous material guidelines.
- Support a safe environment for children, staff, and visitors in accordance with Archdiocese standards.
