Job Summary
Cardinal Ritter College Prep is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Head Boys Soccer Coach to lead and oversee all aspects of the boys soccer program. The Head Coach is responsible for planning and conducting practices, managing competitions, developing student-athletes both athletically and personally, and fostering a positive team culture that reflects the mission, values, and educational goals of Cardinal Ritter College Prep.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee all practices, games, and team activities during the soccer season.
- Teach and develop soccer fundamentals, game strategies, teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership skills.
- Promote the academic success, personal growth, and positive behavior of student-athletes.
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate the efforts of assistant coaches and volunteers.
- Manage team equipment, uniforms, and program inventory.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, school administration, faculty, and athletic department personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all school policies, Archdiocesan guidelines, and Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) rules and regulations.
- Coordinate schedules, transportation, facilities usage, and program needs with the Athletic Department.
- Organize team meetings, conditioning sessions, player development opportunities, and film review sessions as appropriate.
- Promote and support the soccer program within the school community.
- Serve as a positive Christian role model who demonstrates integrity, respect, and good sportsmanship at all times.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and competitive environment for all student-athletes.
Qualifications
- Previous soccer coaching experience required; head coaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, player development, and training techniques.
- Effective leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and mentor high school student-athletes.
- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
- MSHSAA coaching certification, or eligibility to become certified.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required for practices, games, and team events.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to actively participate in and supervise practices and competitions.
- Ability to stand, walk, run, and demonstrate athletic skills for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and transport athletic equipment as needed.
