Job Summary
Kennedy Catholic seeks to hire an Associate Director of College & Career Counseling for the
2026-2027 school year. This position will contribute to the leadership and direction of
College and Career Counseling Department and work to ensure that students of Kennedy
Catholic are equitably prepared for various pathways post-graduation. This position will
provide support for the work of the Department's Director. In tandem, they will counsel
and support students of all grade levels, specifically with college and career advising.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree (minimum); Master's degree or higher preferred
- Familiarity with educational technology, specifically Naviance, PowerSchool, and
Schoology
- 5+ years of college and career counseling, preferably in a high school setting or
comparable experience at the collegiate level in admissions
- Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
The ideal candidate will possess the skills and abilities to:
- Work with students and families from a variety of cultural backgrounds
- Shape programs, policies, and procedures for students applying to colleges and/or
for scholarships, particularly for first generation college attendees
- Inform students, parents/guardians, and the school community about the college
admissions process and career/technical opportunities
- Write comprehensive letters of recommendation for seniors applying to college
- Use data to inform departmental practices
- Monitor students' applications progress and outcomes using platforms such as
Naviance, Slate and other online services
- Work collaboratively within the larger school community
- Develop and maintain relationships with various colleges and universities in
addition to hosting meetings with college representatives
- Effectively utilize educational technology to create and distribute
information/resources
- Travel and attend on behalf of Kennedy Catholic various admissions events, college
fairs, and career fairs
- Manage NCAA portal for aspiring collegiate athletes
- Assist with planning and implementation of Career Day
- Partner with the Counseling Department and school administration to administer
standardized testing (PSAT, SAT, AP Exams, etc.) and serve as the school's AP
Coordinator
- Be flexible and resourceful
- Be organized and an effective communicator with all members of the school
community
Compensation & Benefits
- Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges,
market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and
certifications. Salary is dependent upon experience, certification, and education. The
hiring range for this position is $70,000-$95,000.
