Job Description
St. Peter’s Catholic Church is a thriving parish located on the coast in charming and beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina. For the last nine years, we have been building a culture of mission and discipleship. We seek to form intentional disciples, setting hearts on fire with love for Christ as “a light for Beaufort.”The Director of Evangelization leads our efforts in forming and equipping disciples on fire with love for Christ, who can then help their friends and neighbors to encounter the Lord.
We are seeking a candidate who:
• has a deep love for Jesus and our Catholic faith
• can help form others as disciples
• can build and support teams for ministry
• is well-organized and a go-getter
• is a joyful, helpful team member
Reporting to the pastor, the Director of Evangelization will:
• help Saint Peter’s develop initiatives to seek out the spiritually lost in our area and be a mission-focused parish
• lead our discipleship formation efforts, using training materials from Evangelical Catholic’s “Reach More” program
• support our family faith formation team
• support the teams leading our adult faith formation efforts
• supervise and encourage the Assistant Director of Evangelization, who leads our Alpha Course, Confirmation prep, and youth ministry.
Pastoral experience is great and desired, but we are seeking someone who is a great fit more than someone fitting a checklist of prerequisites.
