Position Summary:
The Respect Life and Pastoral Care Coordinator will facilitate Respect Life and Pastoral Care including Bioethics, Disabilities, and Natural Family Planning in the Department of Marriage, Family, and Life. They will work to foster the dignity of human life from conception to natural death by working with Respect Life groups and organizations within the Archdiocese. This person will aid in unifying all generations and help foster relationships among Respect Life ministries. They will work closely with all Pastoral Care (or similar) roles in the parish to help support care and dignity for the elderly, poor, and most vulnerable.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Investigates, discerns, and advises how the Archdiocese can best prepare, strengthen, and support Respect Life, Pastoral Care, Disability, and Bioethics ministries in the Archdiocese.
- Collaborates with all Respect Life and Pastoral Care events in the Archdiocese.
- Speak/MC at events related to Respect Life, NFP, Bioethics, or Pastoral Care.
- Assists ministry areas on all related to Respect life, Pastoral Care, NFP, or Bioethics.
- Work closely with the Office for the Mission of Catholic Education to find ways we can best support people with disabilities and their families and advise on Bioethics.
- Facilitate opportunities for Respect Life and Pastoral Care groups to deepen their relationship with Christ.
- Assist priests and parish staff with information, instruction, and materials related to Respect Life, Pastoral Care, Disability, NFP, and Bioethics.
- Assist in unifying the Respect Life and Pastoral Care efforts in the Archdiocese.
- Builds and maintains relationships with parish and partner organization leaders.
- Creates and maintains databases of Respect Life coordinators, Pastoral Care coordinators, retreat coordinators and attendees, and available opportunities throughout the Archdiocese and beyond.
- Communicates regularly with constituents via email and phone.
