Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish and School in Beverly Hills, Michigan, is seeking a passionate and committed
Director of Faith Formation to lead and grow the parish’s faith formation efforts. This individual will be a practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of Catholic teaching, proven leadership abilities, and a desire to foster lifelong discipleship among parishioners of all ages.
The Director of Faith Formation will work collaboratively with parish and school leadership to cultivate a vibrant culture of faith and evangelization through comprehensive formation programs for children, youth, and adults.
Key Responsibilities - Develop, implement, and oversee parish faith formation programs, including:
- Family Faith Formation
- Adult Faith Formation
- Sacramental Preparation
- Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)
- Collaboration with the parish school on faith formation initiatives
- Recruit, train, support, and evaluate catechists, volunteers, and program staff.
- Ensure all faith formation curricula and programs are aligned with Catholic doctrine and the requirements of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
- Collaborate with clergy, parish staff, school administration, and volunteers to promote and strengthen faith formation opportunities throughout the parish community.
- Plan and coordinate sacramental preparation programs, retreats, special events, and other formation activities.
- Maintain accurate records related to enrollment, attendance, sacramental preparation, and program outcomes.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, resources, and program materials.
Qualifications
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church and committed to the mission of evangelization.
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, pastoral ministry, education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification in catechetical leadership or diocesan formation programs.
- Strong knowledge of Catholic theology, doctrine, and parish life.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and program management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, parish and school staff, volunteers, and families.
- Experience in catechetical ministry, education, parish ministry, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of safe-environment policies and child protection requirements.
