St. Joseph's Preparatory is a Catholic, Jesuit, independent four-year college preparatory school located
on the northern edge of center city Philadelphia. Founded in 1851, this highly selective school serves

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Director of DEI & HR supports the Vice President of DEI in advancing initiatives that foster
belonging, inclusion, and care across the St. Joseph's Prep community. In addition, this position supports
Human Resources in the deployment of all HR disciplines and with HR goals and projects geared to
strengthening the employee experience and organizational culture.
This student facing role assists in leading DEI programming, communication, and community
engagement while also adding new year-round administrative and HR support responsibilities. As a 12
month position, the Assistant Director will sustain the momentum of mission-driven initiatives throughout
the full academic and summer cycle, ensuring consistency in both DEI and HR operations.
This dual-role position embodies the Jesuit value of cura personalis, care for the whole person, by
bridging equity-centered work with the daily practices that shape a supportive and inclusive workplace.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
EQUITY & COMPANIONSHIP
Program Support and Coordination
Plan, coordinate, and communicate programs that advance equity, inclusion, and companionship for
students, faculty, staff, and families.
Support student and faculty DEI initiatives, including professional development workshops, cultural
heritage celebrations, ambassador programs, and retreats.
Maintain the DEI calendar; coordinate logistics for events and advisory programming.
Collect, track, and analyze data on participation and feedback for DEI initiatives to inform continuous
improvement.

Communication and Resource Development
Create flyers, digital slides, and social media content to promote events and initiatives.
Drive the communication updates that highlight ongoing DEI work.
Maintain organized records of events, resources, and community partnerships.
Community Engagement
Serve as a point of contact for student affinity groups, alumni/parent networks, and faculty
committees focused on belonging and inclusion.
Support the Vice President, DEI and Director of HR in preparing presentations, reports, and
communications for internal and external stakeholders.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Employee Experience & Onboarding
Coordinate onboarding processes for new employees, including scheduling orientations and
preparing welcome materials.
Maintain employee records and update HR databases.
Support initiatives that promote staff well-being, recognition, and belonging.
HR Operations
Assist in organizing compliance documentation, background checks, and benefits administration
support.
Prepare reports or documentation for internal HR processes.
Provide general administrative support such as scheduling, correspondence, and maintaining
confidentiality.
Assist with transition of new systems
Culture & Employee Engagement
Collaborate on HR-led community-building events (e.g., wellness, celebrations).
Partner with DEI to ensure HR policies and staff culture align with Jesuit values of respect, care, and
inclusion.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree in related field required, Masters degree preferred
SHRM CP Certification preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in delivering and facilitating programmatic offerings in DEI and HR
Experience in needs assessments and design of programming that support DEI and HR
