Position Summary:
Queen of Apostles Parish is seeking a faith-filled, enthusiastic Catholic to serve as the coordinator youth ministry and intergenerational ministry. This individual will support the parish’s mission by forming middle and high school youth as intentional disciples of Christ while also fostering a welcoming, vibrant parish community through intergenerational events, outreach, and engagement opportunities for both St. Dennis and St. Peter Churches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and lead youth ministry programs for middle school and high school students.
- Foster a welcoming, Christ-centered environment that encourages spiritual growth, discipleship, and parish community involvement.
- Coordinate regular youth nights, Bible studies, retreats, and service opportunities.
- Plan and coordinate parish community engagement events for all ages, including young families, adults, and seniors. Events may include seasonal celebrations, Easter egg hunts, bingo nights, movie events, fellowship gatherings, and other activities that strengthen parish connection and community life.
- Support preparation for sacraments and Faith Formation program in collaboration with the Director of Faith Formation.
- Communicate effectively with parents, volunteers, parish staff, and parishioners.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers in accordance with diocesan safe environment policies.
- Ensure all ministry programs and parish events align with Catholic teaching and diocesan guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing, at least 21 years old
- Holding a valid driver’s license
- Passion for working with middle school and high school youth while fostering a welcoming and engaged parish community for all ages.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a parish team
- Experience in youth ministry, education, catechesis, event coordination preferred.
- Must complete diocesan Safe Environment / Background Check requirements
- Evening and occasional weekend availability required
- Spanish-speaking would be a plus
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Degree or experience in theology, religious education, education, pastoral ministry, youth ministry or a related field is preferred
- Experience leading youth groups, retreats, or service projects
- Comfortable incorporating prayer, Scripture, and Church teaching in engaging ways
